A few weeks ago I posted a list of my favorite listserv's and internet mail
resources. Going one step further, here is a list of World Wide Web sites I
bookmark for myself. Note that there is not as much going on in
development. Other CommunityDevelopmentBanking-L subscribers are welcome to
share their useful gold mines.

These sites are accessed by copying the "HTTP" line into the "GO TO" box on
your Web reader (Mosaic, Netscape, Cello, etc).

The more complete title for the above document, now revised in Jan, 1995, is
Internet Resources for Not-for-Profits in **HOUSING** and Human Services.
Emphasis added to "housing". I am the compiler of that document and would
appreciate additional leads in the housing area; to munn@interaccess.com.
If you don't have WWW access feel free to request the document (Over 70k) by
email to that address with the subject: Internet Resources.

Additional bank pages:

Bank of Ireland
http://www.webnet.ie/cust/boi/index.html

Citicorp
http://www.tti.com/

Bank of America
http://www.bankamerica.com/

Visa (not quite a bank, but close) is at:
http://www.visa.com/visa/

The present sites are pretty lightly used in terms of content. It will be
interesting to see how web use develops in banking. Obviously, security is
a strong concern and strides are being made in that area. No system, no
matter what security measures are taken, is ever 100% secure... Not even
under your mattress.

As a total aside for those of you without access to the web (probably email
only at your site/provider), there is info available from "Dr. Bob" Rankin
to allow access to gopher, the web, ftp, etc by email. It's really pretty
neat and quick, in fact, it's a quick and efficient way to browse multiple
sites even if you have a browser. Send an email to:

listserv@ubvm.cc.buffalo.edu

with no subject and the message:

Thank you, Munn Heydorn for some GREAT URL sites.

I'd add one more,
http://netmedia.com/cu/cu_home.html
Welcome to the Stanford Federal Credit Union
which looks like the first Credit Union with a home page!

A friend described this page as similar to George Burns and Gracie Allen on
TV, still speaking on a radio stage into a microphone. We've got a long way
to go before thie medium gets used to its potential.
