Lots of interesting posts about Ithaca Hours these days.
As far as having special accounts that trade only in Ithaca Hours:
We could set something up, but what are we looking for?
1) Savings only accounts
a) So Hours are not lost, easily kept in one place
b) Insured?
c) Interest?
2) Hours only checking accounts
a) Only redeemable at AFCU (through deposit or cashing)
b) Special graphics on checks so they are recognizable
c) Overdrafts, special handling fees, interest?
My question, How is this going to make it better for people?
Combining Ithaca Money and AFCU Business Yellow Pages. I'll pass this on to
Leni too.
PROBLEMS
A) We publish once every other year, you once a month.
B) We list AFCU members, you list Hours traders
c) Editorial content and intent is different
PLUSES
A) It would save each of us money.
b) It would increase distribution
c) We could make it a gala edition with longer proflies on
alternatives community businesses.
d) We could make it a more open place for opinion about the
direction of local community Development.
