As you*may know, the first round of competition for the allocation of tax credits under the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC)*Program opened earlier this month.

In an effort to provide detailed information on the NMTC Program to all interested parties, the CDFI Fund will be conducting FREE Information Sessions from Monday, July 8th through Wednesday, July 24th.

[b]Live Information Sessions
CDFI Fund staff will be traveling to*the 12 cities listed below to conduct these Information Sessions "Live."* In addition to Fund staff, at six of the larger sites (denoted with an "*") staff from the Treasury Department's Office of Tax Policy will also*be on hand to answer tax related questions.

[b]Broadcast*of Information Session
The Fund will also be broadcasting the same Information Session*via satellite through the HUD TV Network to over 80 sites around the country on Friday, July 12th.* This broadcast is interact and participates will have the opportunity to ask questions.* Staff from the Treasury Department's Office of Tax Policy will also participate in the broadcast.**A list of the*cities the broadcast will be down linked to is available through the registration system.

Potential Investors - financial institutions, corporations, individuals, etc.
Potential CDEs - practioners from CDCs, CDFIs, SSBICs, non-profits, development districts, etc.
State or Local Community or Economic Development Officials

[b]What will be covered?
CDFI Fund staff will provide an overview of the process to apply to be certified as a CDE, the tax guidance and Notice of Allocation Availability that govern the NMTC Program, a review of the allocation application materials, a demonstration of the Fund's internet-based Help Desk the new electronic application, and Q & A time with Fund staff.

[b]Do I need to attend to apply?
No, attendance at an Information Session is not required to submit an application for a NMTC allocation.

[b]How do I register to attend?
To attend one of these FREE Information Sessions, please register over the internet by visiting the Fund's website at:*www.cdfifund.gov (http://www.cdfifund.gov/) .

[b]How will I know where to go?
An electronic Letter of Confirmation, which will include detailed information such as the exact location of the Information Session and suggestions for local accommodations, will be e-mailed to the address you provide during registration within one hour after submitting the registration online.
