In 2001, the Community Development Banking List saw just under 800 emails, about 2.2 postings per day.* Subscribers had doubled from 927 last year to 1881 by 2001 year end.* In June the list was switched to a moderated format, blocking junk mail from the list.

Nice job, Bill! Sounds like you were kept plenty busy moderating the forum. From: Michael Blumfield <michael@crfusa.com> Bill,
Again, thanks for all your good work!

Bill:
Nice work.* This is a very valuable resource and one of the best moderated lists I have experienced.

Thank you for the work you do on this list, Bill.* I find it valuable
I have found that preceding the subject with a list indicator (e.g.,
[CDB]) is helpful.* I would like to suggest that this be the policy for
the Community Development Banking List.

Bill:
Thanks for the stats on your experience with the List.* I've been a
subscriber for about two years now and continue to enjoy listening and
"participating" in the discussions.* Even though I'm not directly involved in
Community Development Finance (I own a manufacturing company in the central
area of Milwaukee, WI), I believe my work in a way represents the proverbial
"rubber" that community developers hope the "roads" they* travel will "hit".
You are managing a very fine and worthwhile service.* I've recommended it as
a model to several organizations I belong to because of its effectiveness.*
Interestingly, (only) one has adopted a modified (and much more cumbersome)
version of it.* There also seems to be much less candor and sharing of
information on the list.* Perhaps it is due to the geographic limitations and
corresponding competition for "turf" represented in the group.* That's just a
guess.* Keep up the great work.
